A deep dive into Vue

In this workshop we are going to do a deep dive into the two fundamental concepts in Vue: reactivity and rendering. We will explore how Vue detects and reacts to changes, and how Vue compiles your templates into virtual DOM render functions. Based on this knowledge, we will then discuss how to unlock the full potential of Vue with advanced component patterns.

Building Pet Shop App with Vue.js and NativeScript-Vue by VueVixens

This workshop is designed to help attendees get better acquainted with both Vue.js and NativeScript-Vue, an implementation that lets developers write native mobile apps using Vue. 3/4 of a workshop day is spent on the web, and 1/4 on mobile. We will build a fully-functional single-page application with routing, API calls and state management. Web part will be done via CodeSandbox and mobile part will use NativeScript playground.

What you'll learn

At the end of the workshop attendees will be familiar with core principles of Vue application. They will be able to work with single-file components, vue-router, API calls with axios, state management with Vuex and basic form validation. Mobile part will demonstrate how to build native mobile application using NativeScript-Vue

Testing Vue Applications from Start to Finish

Testing is an important part of the development process, but it can be difficult to find resources on how to test large applications. In this workshop, you will learn testing by writing tests for a real-world Vue application. The application will be made with Vue, Vue Router, and Vuex. The workshop will cover unit tests, snapshot tests,  and end-to-end tests. We’ll use Jest to write unit tests and snapshot tests, and the http://cypress.io framework for the end-to-end tests.
